What can our skin specialists do for you?
Pregnancy is bursting with excitement and wonder, but there are also moments of anticipation and anxiety that without a doubt come with such a life-changing event. Parents often worry for their unborn baby’s health, and therefore it’s important to know what they can do to gain reassurance.
The Harmony test comes to play an important role in terms of detecting genetic complications; it is extremely accurate and can be done as early as 10 weeks of gestation. It requires a single blood sample and the results will be ready in less than a week.
Expecting mothers have in their blood fragments of their babies DNA. Through a non-invasive method, the Harmony test will use a blood sample to screen this DNA for Trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), Trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome), Trisomy 13 (Patau syndrome) and gender.
